Leads with empathy. Inspires Change.
When young leaders are seen, supported, and equipped, they not only rise — they help transform the world around them.
Margaret Akullo is a Ugandan-born British Criminologist, Mentor, and Global Changemaker with more than 30 years of experience strengthening criminal justice systems and developing emerging leaders across Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America. Her career spans criminal intelligence work with the London (UK) Metropolitan Police Service, leadership within a UK-based children’s NGO, and a distinguished tenure with the United Nations, where she advanced responses to human trafficking, migrant smuggling, child protection, and criminal justice reform. Throughout her global work, she has been a consistent advocate for gender equality, racial equality, and inclusive, people-centred leadership.
As a writer, Margaret is the voice behind the Leadership Reflections series on LinkedIn, Medium, X and Instagram — a thoughtful collection of insights that blend African heritage, lived experience, and cross-cultural learning. Her reflections invite emerging leaders to embrace authenticity, cultural humility, courage, and connection as they grow into their own leadership identity. Her perspective as a Ugandan diasporan woman deeply shapes her work, offering young leaders a grounded, globally aware, and culturally conscious approach to personal and professional growth.
Today, Margaret continues her commitment to empowering young leaders as an independent mentor and the creator of the Mindset-to-Output Mentorship Programme. This structured, high-impact programme supports emerging leaders aged 21–32 to turn their ideas into meaningful, high-quality deliverables while building clarity, confidence, discipline, and a strong inner foundation for leadership. Her philosophy is simple: leadership is a mindset, a responsibility, and a practice — and when nurtured with empathy and integrity, it inspires change that lasts.
Warm, steady, and deeply grounded in global experience, Margaret brings a unique blend of insight, conviction, and empathy to every mentoring relationship. Her work reflects a powerful truth she has witnessed across continents: when young leaders are seen, supported, and equipped, they not only rise — they help transform the world around them.
